| The eleventh question of Fatwa no. 19479 Q 11: Is it permissible for a Muslim woman to wear pants while wearing a Hijab (veil) when she goes shopping? What is the ruling on wearing loose pants? A: It is not permissible for a Muslim woman to wear pants, as this is imitating the Kafirs (disbelievers) and Muslims are forbidden from imitating them. Pants also show the shape and contours of a woman’s body which will pose as a great source of Fitnah (trying temptation) for her and for men. May Allah grant us success.
